Recycling Program

Precious Plastics Recycling Program

UNDP reports that Haiti produces an estimated 1.3 million tons of municipal solid waste annually. However, the collection rate for this waste is alarmingly low, standing at around 12%. Haiti Thrive’s Precious Plastics Recycling Program is focused on tackling Haiti’s growing plastic waste problem. We aim to build a cleaner, more sustainable future by creating efficient recycling systems and empowering local communities to get involved.

Strategic Alliance

We’ve partnered with ADF Haiti, a trusted organization deeply rooted in sustainable development and environmental conservation. Their knowledge of local communities and experience in waste management will strengthen our efforts to reduce plastic pollution. We’re working toward a cleaner environment and a brighter future for Haiti

The Program's Objectives

Reducing Plastic Waste: We aim to minimize the environmental impact of plastic waste by setting up efficient recycling processes across the country.
Empowering Communities: Through training and job creation in the recycling industry, we’re giving local communities the skills and opportunities to participate actively in this movement.
Driving Innovation: We’re focused on finding innovative ways to repurpose recycled plastic, creating new market opportunities, and promoting sustainable business practices.
Raising Awareness: Our program includes educating local communities on the importance of recycling and protecting the environment.
